Behind the Scenes @ Elmastudio

As you may have notices already, it’s really important to us to create kind of personal live demos for our WordPress themes. And we always have such a fun time getting creative and think of some new photo ideas and stories for our live demo blog posts. I would love to have my own personal blog as well and write about food, travels and personal things. Hopefully I can make this dream come true in the next couple of month, but I want to make sure that I will have the time to maintain the blog and write new content often. So for now we enjoy to „get wild“ in our live demos and write, take pictures and do some art or graphic work to present our new themes to you 🙂

Coffee Break with Chocolate Cake

Oh, sometimes I really really love to drink a cup of hot coffee and maybe eat something sweet together with it. So when my mum baked her famous vegan chocolate cake for us, I couldn’t resist to eat a piece of cake with a hot vanilla soy milk coffee as breakfast the next day. Sooo yummy… And yes I know, I shouldn’t drink too much coffee, but once in a while the sweet taste of the cake in combination with the slightly bitter task of coffee is just the best!

Strolling Around Tokyo

Tokyo is such an amazing city and we always wanted to visit it. Last year we finally had the time and the money for a trip to Japan and we started our trip with five days in Tokyo. Of course five days are way too short and we could only catch a glimpse of the city during our stay. But we loved every minute of it and we already dreaming of coming back one day. We stayed in a lovely little hotel just a few train stations away from Shibuya station and were able to get around the city pretty easy. The train system in Tokyo is amazing, although crowded at times. But it’s actually pretty easy to find your way around. We also loved it to just stroll around the different neighborhoods, eat in local cafés and small restaurants and just watch, watch watch…

Book Review: Hello Sandwich Tokyo Travel Guide

When we traveled to Japan last year our first stop was Tokyo. Since we were dreaming about visiting Japan for years, we were so exited and started to search for good travel recommendation or guide books. We stumbled over a recommendation for the little self-made “Tokyo Guide” by Hello Sandwich somewhere online rather accidentally. Of course we ordered the little book right away. And we really loved it — it gave us so many ideas what to do in this amazing city away from the typical tourist to do lists. The guide is divided into the different Tokyo neighborhoods and you can just mark an area and explore the sights and recommendations there. We also loved the tip to get a smart card for the Tokyo train and subway net. This way we didn’t have to worry about getting a ticket every time we took the metro. Our favorite area in our (sadly only five days stay) in Tokyo was Shimokitazawa (with cute stores and lovely cafés) and of course Harajuku with its teens dressing …
